What FaceLock is
FaceLock is face unlock for Windows and Mac laptops. After you wake or unlock your laptop, it covers every display until it sees you. It locks the apps you choose, and it encrypts the files, folders and photos you choose, so they open with one look. FaceLock Safe is a separate five-level vault, with a password manager, for what must never be seen.
A version for Android and iPhone is coming soon, as a separate licence.

How we build it
- On your device. Your face, camera images, files and the list of things you lock never leave your laptop. There’s no account, no cloud and no telemetry. The app sends us only what a licence needs, and the privacy policy lists exactly what that is.
- Your face is never the key. Files are encrypted with a random 256-bit key. Your face, Windows Hello / Touch ID or PIN only decide whether FaceLock releases it.
- Honest about the limits. A video replay or a mask can fool any ordinary webcam, so we call webcam face match what it is: a convenience gate. Strict mode uses Windows Hello or Touch ID instead. The security page explains where FaceLock stops.
- Your files are never held hostage. If a licence runs out, protection pauses, but everything you’ve locked still opens.
- No surprise charges. Every feature is free for 7 days with no card. After that it’s $15 a year per laptop, and a licence never renews by itself.
